The university recently dedicated the
Welder
Library,
Welder Library seats 204, and hold approximately 65,000 volumes. In addition, there are 8,000 records, cassettes, filmstrips, slides, and video cassettes. The library subscribes to over 550 periodicals and newspapers as well as the major indices. Back issues of periodicals are available. This facility also provides space for classrooms, computer laboratories, and faculty offices. All materials in the library are classified under the Library of Congress system, with location of materials easily determined through the use of INFO*LYNX, an automated catalog. INFO*LYNX is a combined listing of the materials of the Welder Library, Bismarck Public Library and Mandan Public Library. |
Upon presentation of proper credentials, students and faculty have access to the collections of Bismarck Public Library, Bismarck State College Library, Mandan Public Library, North Dakota State Library, and Q&R MedCenter One Health Sciences Library. Welder Library is linked by computer to the major academic and public libraries in North Dakota. The State of North Dakota
and the State of Minnesota have a contract which makes the resources of
Minnesota available to residents of North Dakota, including the students
and faculty of the University of Mary.
Welder Library is also a participation in OCLC, a nation-wide computerized library network that provides automated support for cataloging and interlibrary loan through access to 26 million volumes. |
